Medical ExerciseMedical Exercise Training is the development and implementation of a fitness program to enhance the functional conditioning level and hasten the recovery of clients with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological disorders. It is designed to continue rehabilitation for most physical therapy or chiropractic patients and to increase functional strength and endurance.
A Medical Exercise Specialist is an advanced fitness professional who has undergone specific training to develop conditioning programs for clients with special needs. The major goal of this program involves assisting the client in improving how they function in daily life, work and/or sports. Specific protocol is established to increase range of motion, flexibility, strength, endurance, balance and to improve coordination dysfunction in a supervised exercise environment, assuring safety and client compliance.
Medical Exercise does not provide any aspect of medical treatment of a client's condition.
